Actress Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan Holloway on AMC’s television series Mad Men, bought a one-bedroom condo with her husband and actor Geoffrey Arend on West 56th and Ninth Avenue near Balsley Park in New York City.
The couple bought the place for just over $1 million reported Trulia on May 7. The condo is located in a pre-war-style building, measuring 810 square feet and features a wood-burning fireplace and an office/den area. The condo also has a balcony that overlooks the skyline of Manhattan and Central Park.
Mad Men is a television series created by Matthew Weiner and debuted in 2007. The seventh season and series finale airs May 17. The show is set in the 1960s in New York City, and revolves around Don Draper, played by Jon Hamm, who is first the creative director of Sterling Cooper and later helps found Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce (SCDP).
The show focuses on Draper and the people in his personal and professional lives. Joan Holloway, played by Hendricks, is an office manager and head of the secretarial pool at Sterling Cooper, and later becomes a partner at SCDP.
Hendricks and her husband have another four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home in California that they purchased in 2011 for $1.7 million.
